The Government of Khyber Pakhtunkhwa created Flood Damages Restoration Directorate headed by Director General with category 1 Powers in August 2010.
Damages were assessed throughout the province and classified into three categories i.e. Immediate,
Mid Term and Long Term
Immediate Restoration completed within 6 weeks wherein water supplies were restored in the Major Canal Systems with a total cost of about Rs. 600.00 Million.
As Mid term arrangement, consultants & contractors of national repute were pre-qualified and their services hired for restoration project throughout the province and physical works taken in hand.
Strict Quality Control has been ensured during commencement of Flood Restoration works complying to ASTM/BSS/PSS;
1.GI Wire galvanization tests have been conducted at PCSIR Laboratory Peshawar.
2.Earth fill compaction and road tests have been performed.
3.Compression Test of Concrete from Engineering University Peshawar
4.Tensile strength of Steel has been ensured.
5.Other relevant tests (Bricks, gradation etc).
